Expected results of the project

The purpose of the Inventory is to provide description and analysis of the existing resources for the monitoring and control of communicable diseases in the 15 Member States of the European Union, the following additional countries candidate to become Member States Malta, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Latvia, Romania, Hungary, Estonia, Lithuania, Poland, Slovenia, Turkey, Bulgaria and the associated States Iceland, Norway and Switzerland.
The Inventory database is a tool for finding the contact persons who play a role in the control or diagnosis of infectious diseases.
To build this database, data are continuosly collected and updated by each State under the general coordination of the 'Istituto Superiore di Sanità, Rome, Italy' who provided five questionnaires on the following topics:
